Boston Children’s Health Physician Data Breach Class Action Litigation

Kantrowitz, Goldhamer & Graifman, P.C., is currently investigating Boston Children’s Health Physicians (“BCHP”) regarding a data breach of personal health information.  BCHP is a large multi-specialty group with more than 300 clinicians providing comprehensive care for newborns, children, and adolescents. BCHP offers a full range of care to families in over 55 practices throughout New York’s Metropolitan Area, the Hudson Valley, and Connecticut. On or about October 4, 2024, BCHP announced a data security incident in which  protected health information and sensitive confidential information of an unknown number of individuals was taken from BCHP’s database.

The New York-based healthcare group was informed by its IT vendor on September 6, 2024, that they had identified unusual activity in its systems and on September 10, 2024, BCHP detected unauthorized activity on their network. Sensitive information exposed by the data breach may include the following depending on the individual:

  • Full names
  • Address
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license number
  • Medical information
  • Social Security number
  • Health insurance information
  • Billing information
