Anna Jaques Hospital Data Breach Class Action Litigation

Kantrowitz, Goldhamer & Graifman, P.C., is currently investigating Anna Jaques Hospital (“AJH”) regarding a data breach affecting the personal information of 316,342 individuals. AJH is a community hospital serving thousands of people in Merrimack Valley, North Shore, and Southern New Hampshire, offering a wide range of health services including primary and emergency care.

On or about December 25, 2023, AJH first became aware of a cybersecurity incident affecting certain systems within its own network. AJH then launched an investigation into the incident, which included a forensic analysis and manual review of specific documents. At the conclusion of the investigation on November 5, 2024, it was determined that an unauthorized party accessed certain files containing sensitive information. On December 5, 2024, AJH notified the Maine Attorney General that hackers gained unauthorized access to the following sensitive information:

  • Demographic details
  • Medical and health insurance information
  • Social Security numbers
  • Driver’s license and other ID information
  • Financial information
  • Other personal or health records
