Kantrowitz, Goldhamer & Graifman, P.C., is currently investigating Medusind, Inc., (“Medusind”), regarding a data breach affecting the personal information and protected health information of approximately 360,934 individuals. Medusind is a Miami-based provider of comprehensive end-to-end revenue cycle management solutions including practice management, eligibility, coding, claims processing, and analytics. Medusind’s services are designed to optimize the healthcare revenue cycle process and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
On or about December 29, 2023, Medusind discovered suspicious activity within its IT network. Medusind responded by taking their affected systems offline and hiring a cybersecurity forensic firm to conduct an investigation. While it is unclear when this investigation concluded, on January 7, 2025, Medusind reported the incident to Maine Attorney General and disclosed that the following sensitive information had been compromised:
- Full names
- Dates of birth
- Health insurance information
- Billing and payment information
- Medical information
- Social security numbers
- Other demographic information
