The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Columbus Short, a star on ABC’s hit television show Scandal, has been accused of domestic violence and his wife has filed for divorce. 
According to the Times, Short’s wife, Tuere Tanee Short, filed for divorce earlier this month in Los Angeles County Superior Court and was also granted a temporary restraining order against the actor.
The couple has been married since July 2005 and reportedly separated on April 7. Tanee cited irreconcilable differences, and requested full legal and physical custody of the couple’s 2-year-old daughter in her filing, Ayala.
The filing came after Columbus was accused of domestic violence, and a month after he was arrested in connection to a bar fight that the Times reported occurred because another man badmouthed Tuere.
The restraining order, which was obtained by multiple news sites, alleged that on April 7, Columbus was drunk and enlisted Tuere in a violent game of “Truth for Truth,” accusing her of having an affair and threatened to slash her tires. The order requires the actor to move out of their home.
Columbus has not responded to the accusations, saying only in a recent interview “don’t believe everything you read.” The actor has previously been charged with misdemeanor spousal battery in connection to a different outburst when his wife, daughter and son were in the household. That case is pending.
