Mr. Perlmutter’s diverse skills, developed over more than twenty years, have enabled him to develop a general practice that now focuses primarily on family law and related matters, including all aspects of divorce, separation, custody and parenting time, spousal and child support, equitable distribution of property, prenuptial agreements, mediation, arbitration, domestic violence, post-judgment matters, and appeals. Mr. Perlmutter has an extensive business and employment law background and advises clients with respect to negotiations, contracts, and litigation. Mr. Perlmutter has tried cases in New York and New Jersey and has earned a reputation as a fierce advocate.

He is a member of the Rockland County Bar Association and the Rockland County Employment Law Committee, the New York City Chapter of the National Employment Lawyer’s Association, as well as the New York and New Jersey Bar Association. He volunteers his time to serve as an Early Settlement Panelist in Bergen County, during which he reviews pending divorce and family law cases to make recommendations regarding potential settlements to help others resolve their matters. Previously, Mr. Perlmutter was a member of the Human Resources Committee with the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey, where he lectured on various topics related to employment law.  He has also been selected as “Super Lawyer” in New York by Superlawyers.com every year since 2021. He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey state and Federal courts.

Education

Randy is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and New York Law School. In law school, he was an Articles Editor for the New York Law School International Comparative Law Journal and a member of the Moot Court Association. He returns to New York Law School annually as a judge of various moot court competitions including the Robert Wagner Labor & Employment National Competition.

Randy joined KGG in 2002 and became a partner in 2007. He is admitted to practice law in New York, including Federal Court for the Southern and Western Districts and New Jersey, including the Federal District Court.

Mr. Perlmutter began his legal career as a Regional Director and Human Resources Manager for a nationwide retail corporation. Mr. Perlmutter also worked as in-house counsel at a high-end fashion company where he regularly advised upper management and field management on policies, practices and procedures related to employment law matters.
