William T. Schiffman, Esq. has been associated with our firm since 1993. His considerable and varied experience makes him a great asset to our law firm. He has an emphasis on contested complex matrimonial, and areas of securities, employment class action and general commercial litigation.
Professional Profile
Mr. Schiffman received his J.D. degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1974 and was admitted to practice law in New York, Texas and New Jersey in 1975, 1976 and 1981 respectively.
From 1974 until 1977, Mr. Schiffman was Law Clerk to the Honorable Woodrow Seals, United States District Judge, Southern District of Texas. In that position, William was responsible for preparing decisions and orders on motions as well as observing trials and assisting Judge Seals in preparing findings of fact and conclusions of law.
In 1977, Mr. Schiffman was associated with the law firm of Urban & Coolidge in Houston, Texas where he remained until 1979. Mr. Schiffman’s principal practice area was commercial litigation.
Mr. Schiffman was an attorney for AT&T from 1979 to 1985, first in the Long Lines Department in Atlanta, Georgia, and then at AT&T’s company headquarters in New Jersey. His responsibilities were principally in the areas of general litigation and the AT&T antitrust litigation prior to divestiture.
In 1985, Mr. Schiffman joined the law firm of Jacoby & Meyers, first, as the managing attorney of several offices, then as New Jersey resident partner in charge of the northern New Jersey offices. The practice was principally in the area of litigation. He remained there until 1993, when he became associated with KGG.
