Regional Care, Inc. Data Breach Class Action Litigation

Kantrowitz, Goldhamer & Graifman, P.C., is currently investigating Regional Care, Inc., (“RCI”), regarding a data breach affecting the personal information of approximately 225,728 individuals. Regional Care, Inc., is a healthcare management company that partners with employers to provide customized health plan solutions. Based in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, RCI specializes in third-party administrative services including claims processing, health plan design, cost management, and employee benefits administration.

On or about September 18, 2024, RCI detected unusual activity within its computer network. In response, RCI shut down its systems and launched an investigation to determine the nature and extent of the breach. The investigation concluded on November 8, 2024, and it was determined that an unauthorized party was able to access certain files containing sensitive and confidential consumer information. On December 16, 2024, RCI notified the Maine Attorney General that the following sensitive information had been compromised:

  • Full names
  • Dates of birth
  • Social Security numbers
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information
